The Gallery
Avalon Gallery was opened in 1996 by Melena Norman Scampa, who brings to the gallery over 20 years experience in the wholesale and retail art business. Her passion for art was nurtured by her extensive world travels, and time spent studying and living abroad. She takes pride in her unusual collection of artists whose work represents a broad range of genres including Magic Realism, the emerging Imaginary Realism, and classical Figurative. The gallery focuses on the lost art of fine printmaking in such mediums as stone lithography, mezzotints and etchings by master printmakers as well as up-and-coming artists. The gallery also exhibits original paintings, sculpture, and limited edition giclée prints. Reflecting notably in the eclectic and provocative display of contemporary art is a common theme of the mythical, the magical, and the divine feminine, uniquely expressed by the highly imaginative vision of artists from around the world.

Avalon Gallery is in Carmel-by-the-Sea, situated on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula on California's Central Coast. Carmel is a world-class destination, renowned for it's stunning coastal vistas, quaint shops, resaturants and courtyards, as well as it's art galleries. We are located at Morgan Court on the east side of Lincoln St. between Ocean Ave. & 7th Ave. We are in our new space in the back, next door to Profiles Hair Studio.
